• About Me

Samantha Foss is a multi-instrumentalist and multi-genre musician with immense skill and talent. Her success has become more consistent in recent years, and she is likely to reach even greater heights as long as she creates great music that people enjoy. Her career speaks for itself, with a diverse and high-quality approach that creates fans for the rest of their lives from everyone who hears her.

Samantha was bitten by the performing bug as a child while riding in the car with her mother. Samantha's mother was a single parent who worked hard to support her daughter and sang in various cover bands in the area. Samantha's mother would listen to the oldies station while driving her to work, and the two would sing along, with her mother teaching her how to harmonize.

Growing up in Georgia was difficult at the time. To make ends meet, her mother worked multiple jobs, and Foss didn't always get to spend much time with her. She spent a lot of her time at home, cooking for her mother when she got home from work. This gave Foss maturity and independence, which enabled her to thrive when the music called to her.

Foss also began taking guitar and piano lessons at a young age, with her mother paying what she could to local teachers. Samantha recognized both early on and began writing songs as early as the age of nine. Her school was difficult for her, and she was frequently picked on for her interest in music other than top 40s radio. Others made fun of her for being a single mother, which was unusual at the time.

She channeled the emotional turmoil that this caused her at the time into her songs and singing. Her teachers took notice right away and encouraged her to play on a regular basis. She eventually began winning school talent contests in her hometown of Georgia.

Samantha Foss discovered her true calling after graduating from high school: music. Throughout the music program, she made friends who recognized her natural talent. She not only participated in several school-related bands, primarily as a rhythm guitarist or singer, but she also formed several groups with her friends. They mostly played rock and soul, with Foss frequently taking lead vocals.

During this time, Foss also learned music theory and improved her ability to arrange. In her bands, she became the resident songwriter, singer, and arranger, and she was known for her complex vocal harmonies. Foss also regularly learned and practiced other instruments, including bass guitar, anything with keys, and even tuned percussion and drum kits. This made her invaluable in a variety of situations.

Most focused on her abilities, but others highlighted her as a side musician. Her talent, on the other hand, was usually too obvious to be overlooked for long. She eventually took over nearly every band, exploring different styles and sounds with each to hone her skills even further.

Foss began by performing at open mic nights but quickly advanced to opening slots for local bands. Her ability to play in any style and pick up songs without sheets impressed her fellow musicians. Foss, who can play by ear and read music, has performed not only in rock bands but also in soul bands, rap ensembles, jazz ensembles, and even classical performances. She was known to play guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, as well as some reed instruments such as a clarinet. This made it easier for her to play in multiple bands, and even though she was extremely busy, she was financially secure.

She eventually landed a recording deal with a local independent label run by her then-partner, Julius Hitchcock. Hitchcock is an accomplished rapper and performer in his own right, and the two began recording as Sam and Jules. Their rich and varied sound was highlighted by insistent rhythms and his skilled upright bass work. For many years, they were a significant presence on the scene.

During this period, Foss recorded with a number of bands and even wrote and released solo albums under various monikers. The Sam Foss Experiment, albums under her own name, Soul Sisters, and The Blues Shouters were among them.

Samantha Foss is a talented photographer and painter who has sold some of her work on the market in addition to her musical career. Her work is entirely self-created, and it includes ink drawings, watercolors, and digital art. Her early interest in television led to a monthly YouTube show in which she performs her music, displays her artwork, and discusses current events with her friends.
